Lotus CNC Engraved Staircase Stone Wall – Kamal Sarovar

Kamal Sarovar is an original Stone Emotions design concept: a double-height staircase feature wall in Gwalior White sandstone that tells the story of a lotus pond, with CNC-machined and hand-finished lotus stems, buds and backlit flowers that bloom as you climb.

This is a design visualisation that can be made to order. Stone, panel layout, relief depth and lighting are finalised per project after you share your wall dimensions and approve physical samples. Made in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with pan-India delivery.

Quick answer

A lotus CNC engraved staircase stone wall uses natural stone panels with CNC-machined and hand-finished lotus stems, buds and low-relief backlit flowers that rise along the stair diagonal, turning a double-height stair wall into a calm lotus-pond story.

The design

Kamal Sarovar (“lotus lake”) is laid out on an off-white Gwalior White sandstone wall that runs the full double height of the staircase. At the base, an engraved water-ripple band and engraved lily-pad outlines set the scene of a still pond.

From the water, thin flat engraved lotus stems curve upward along the stair diagonal. Small lotus buds in shallow relief sit on the lower stems, and the story opens up as you climb: at the top, two large lotus flowers in low relief bloom in full, each with a warm concealed halo backlight. The wall is set out in 4×2 ft panels with filled, stone-colour joints so the drawing reads as one continuous surface.

Craftsmanship: CNC-machined and hand-finished

The stems, lily pads and ripples are CNC-engraved as fine, flat lines so the curves stay smooth and continuous across panel joints. The buds and flowers are CNC-machined in relief and then hand-finished to soften tool marks and bring out the grain of the sandstone.

  • CNC engraving: thin lotus stems, lily-pad outlines and the water-ripple band.
  • Shallow relief: small lotus buds along the stems.
  • Low relief: two large lotus flowers made as separate mounted pieces with a concealed halo backlight.
  • Panel layout: 4×2 ft panels with filled, stone-colour joints.

Where it suits

  • Staircase walls: the stems follow the stair diagonal, so the bloom unfolds as you climb.
  • Double-height foyers: the tall composition fills a large vertical wall without crowding it.
  • Mandir walls: the lotus is a natural fit for a prayer space; the layout can be scaled down.
  • Hotel lobbies: the backlit flowers make a quiet landmark for arriving guests.

Lighting tips

  • Keep the halo to the two large flowers so they remain the highlight of the climb.
  • Use a warm white concealed LED behind each mounted flower so light spills evenly around the petals.
  • Add soft grazing light from above to bring out the engraved stems, ripples and lily pads.
  • Plan wiring, drivers and service access before the panels are fabricated.

Frequently asked questions

What is a lotus CNC engraved staircase stone wall?

It is a natural stone wall beside a staircase with lotus motifs that are CNC-machined and hand-finished. In the Kamal Sarovar concept, thin engraved lotus stems curve upward along the stair diagonal to two low-relief lotus flowers with a warm halo backlight, with lotus buds, lily pads and a water-ripple band below.

Which stone is used in the Kamal Sarovar design?

The concept is shown in Gwalior White sandstone, an off-white natural sandstone that takes fine engraving and soft relief well. The final stone is confirmed against physical samples for your project.

How are the lotus flowers and stems made?

The stems, lily pads and ripples are CNC-engraved as thin flat lines into 4×2 ft panels. The two large lotus flowers are CNC-machined in low relief as separate pieces, hand-finished and mounted on the wall, and the buds are carved in shallow relief.

Where can this design be used?

It suits staircase walls, double-height foyers, mandir walls and hotel lobbies. Kamal Sarovar is a design concept and visualisation that can be made to order, with the layout adapted to your wall.
