Fixing starts with the wall and the load

Confirm the substrate condition, wall height, panel dimensions, stone thickness and calculated panel mass before selecting a fixing method. A large carved wall needs its own technical review; a catalogue render is not an installation design.

Panelisation, focal forms and access

Map the joints around focal forms and openings. Check how every piece reaches its location, how it is supported during installation and how numbering matches the dry layout. Faces and primary sacred details should not be divided by production joints.

Adhesive and mechanical support

Compatible adhesives, mechanical supports or a combined system are selected for the substrate, stone, exposure, height and loading. Do not substitute a generic adhesive recommendation for the project engineer’s approved detail.

Exterior and water-adjacent detailing

Review drainage, movement, edges, capping, staining risk and the performance evidence for the exact stone and finish. A sheltered interior approval does not establish facade or pool suitability.

Samples, drawings and responsibility

Agree the material range and a representative finish/carving sample. Shop drawings should identify panels, joints, returns, fixing zones and sequence, with the required project consultants confirming their scope.
